Yusuf Islam’s New Memoir: ‘Cat on the Road to Findout’

The Islamia community has always been proud of our schools’ remarkable history, and the remarkable man who founded them. Now, we are excited to announce the release of Yusuf Islam’s new memoir ‘Cat on the Road to Findout.’

This book is a deeply personal account of Yusuf Islam’s life journey. It traces his transformation from one of the world’s most celebrated singer-songwriters of the 1970s to the founder of numerous charitable and social initiatives, including Islamia Schools.

Through his own words and artwork, Yusuf Islam depicts his early years in London, his rise to international fame, his near-fatal illness, and the profound spiritual awakening that led him to dedicate his life to learning, family, and service. 

Along the way, he shares the story of how Islamia Schools were founded and the challenges he and the community faced in those early years. It's inspiring to read about the faith and determination which brought his vision to life. And considering how far we’ve come, with the grace of Allah; we are nothing but grateful.

‘Cat on the Road to Findout’ is a tribute to the artist whose passion and vision continues to shape our community today. As Yusuf himself once said: “Education is the key to building peace and understanding between people. Islamia Schools were founded to keep that light alive.”
