It gave us great pride to host visitors at our Open Days in September and October, with additional support and hospitality from our Year 11s. Nothing demonstrates our success like the confidence and leadership of our students, who welcomed families and managed the event with superb organisation.
Having prepared since the beginning of September, our Year 11 boys played a key role on the days. They greeted and welcomed new and potential parents and then guided them on tours of the school. The tours involved visiting classrooms in session, and it was no easy feat conducting a large group without disrupting lessons! Students also answered questions from parents and shared their experiences of studying at Brondesbury College for five years.
Parents and visitors were able to attend the Open Days after registering online in advance. The two-hour programme began at 11:00 am, with refreshments, followed by the guided tour.
Visitors were conducted in groups of two families, with each group accompanied by two students. They had the opportunity to observe lessons in the History, Mathematics, Arabic, Qur’an, and Food Technology classrooms, before visiting the Science Department’s laboratories, where they got to watch live science experiments performed by our Year 7s.
Parents also had the chance to browse through last year’s achievement and activity folders, celebrating the wide range of student successes and school initiatives.
We concluded the tour in the masjid with speeches by Year 11 students followed by an address from our Headteacher, Mr Ali. The programme ended with a Q&A session, allowing parents to engage further with questions directed at students and staff.
