From January 2026, our Food Technology Department launched this year’s annual Junior and MasterChef Challenge, one of the most exciting and highly anticipated events in our school calendar. Across three thrilling rounds, students have been developing their culinary skills, creativity, confidence, and teamwork in a competition that truly brought learning to life.
We are now proudly approaching the final stage of our school MasterChef competition, where students from Years 7 to 10 competed to become the best overall group. Each year group was divided into three teams, with the winning team from each class progressing to compete against other class champions.
Throughout the competition, the atmosphere has been filled with excitement, determination, and pride. Students demonstrated outstanding creativity by designing dishes inspired by a wide variety of cultures and cuisines from around the world. It has been wonderful to see students confidently experimenting with flavours, presentation styles, and innovative ideas.
Our judging panel, made up of teachers and staff members, thoroughly enjoyed tasting the impressive selection of dishes. Many praised the originality, effort, and passion shown by all participants. The standard this year has been exceptionally high, making it incredibly difficult to select the final winners.
More importantly, the challenge has helped students develop valuable life skills beyond the kitchen. Students strengthened their teamwork, communication, organisation, time management, and problem-solving abilities while working under pressure. They also gained a deeper understanding of healthy eating, nutrition, hygiene, and food presentation. Most importantly, the competition helped build confidence and encouraged students to take pride in their talents and achievements.
The Junior and MasterChef Challenge has not only been about winning, but also about learning, sharing experiences, and celebrating the incredible talents within our school community. We are extremely proud of every student who participated and look forward to seeing their continued success in future challenges.
To keep the excitement alive, the Food Technology Department will hold a special assembly at the end of June to officially announce this year’s winners. For this reason, we are not revealing any names in this newsletter — we do not want to spoil the surprise!
Good luck to all our finalists, and thank you to the Food Technology Department for organising such a memorable and inspiring event.
