Powerful Messages from Islamia Girls on Anti-Bullying Week

We marked Anti-Bullying Week, at Islamia Girls School, with a series of impactful activities held between Monday 11th and Friday 15th November. The week was designed to promote awareness, empathy, and respect among students while reinforcing the school’s ongoing commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive environment.

Throughout the week, all year groups engaged in thoughtful discussions, creative projects, and interactive sessions around the theme of Respect. On Wednesday, Year 11 students attended an assembly exploring the effects of bullying and how to stop it.

On Thursday, the school hosted a non-uniform day, with students encouraged to wear anti-bullying colours. A £2 contribution helped support the cost of materials for the banners and displays.

Then, on the Fridaystudents from Years 7 to 10 perform powerful anti-bullying role plays. These performances were followed by open discussions, with active participation from students across Years 7 to 11.

In the lead-up to the events, students created a range of creative work, including banners, posters, artwork, articles, poetry, and quotes, all of which were displayed around the school playground to reinforce the anti-bullying message.

The week was led by Mrs Monan, our PSHE teacher, who encouraged students to reflect deeply on the impact of bullying and express their ideas through a variety of mediums. The event brought together students from all year groups, showcasing their creativity and commitment to building a more respectful school community.
