Welcome to IGS School 2010 BBC School Report!!
The BBC School Report gives 12 and 13-year-olds from UK schools the chance to make their own news at school and to broadcast it for real on the BBC website. Students and their work featured on News 24, Breakfast News, the One O'clock and Six O'clock News, Newsround, Radio Five Live, Radio 4, 40, BBC Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and many local and national BBC websites.
This year has certainly been a challenge with the Year 8s. Whilst in the previous years only one news report was created this year three news reports have been aired ranging from animal testing to teenage crime and violent movies. This is with the aim that on the 11th March 2010, TV news will be published on our website which the BBC will link.
Miss Saba and Ms Uzma , the Lead Teachers on the project explain: "although the students initially found the pressures of media tricky they have met the challenge excellently producing three interesting reports on issues facing us today. The students have shown a lot of enthusiasm for the project and have acquired journalistic skills in the process. They should be proud for the huge effort that they have put into the project".
