Donations

The Yusuf Islam Foundation Scholarship Programme aims to support students to achieve their full academic potential. Every year many talented and ambitious girls and boys apply for places at our secondary schools but for some only a scholarship can make this opportunity a reality in the face of financial hardship.
Benefactors who wish to make a positive and lasting contribution to tomorrow's generation will find that the Yusuf Islam Scholarship Programme is one of the most effective and rewarding ways to provide hard working and dedicated children with a chance to experience all that a good, well-rounded education has to offer.
Eligibility for scholarship support is based on two factors: need and merit. The backbone of our scholarship programme is centred on need. Coupled with this, financially challenged students with strong academic and achievement records will generally qualify for our scheme. Recipients of a scholarship award will be expected to maintain an academic performance that places them in the top 25% of their class and show exemplary behaviour at all times. They will also be expected to contribute to the school's extra-curricular provision. Similarly, parents of such students will need to show model behaviour, encourage their child's education both at home and at school and volunteer their support to the school in non-fiscal ways.
The scholarship fund allows donors to support students in a variety of ways. For example, some donors may wish to give a scholarship targeted to a particular subject area, and we would be delighted to discuss and receive such support. In fact, when it comes to designing a scholarship, donors can be as creative as they like: think of something that interests you, and create a fund for a student with that particular skill or background.
Anyone wishing to provide financial assistance to the students of today and tomorrow can make a donation either by regular or single gift. You can also support scholarships by means of a bequest. We would be happy to discuss all the different funding options available to you and tailor a package that meets your own individual aspirations. Some of the ways you can start contributing right away are:-
- supporting a single student during the course of their five years with us
- giving a general gift to the scholarship fund on a regular or one off basis
- endow a named scholarship
- fund a student during their final two years leading up to GCSE examinations.
